Well, yesterday's class part went well. The kids seemed to enjoy the arts and crafts -- and they were very good about the clean up... even if it still became The Great Glitter Disaster II. But well, it was very sweet how many of them gave me little valentines. They're good children. They definitely enjoyed the candies too, though the sugar rush... I think the second recess was a brilliant idea -- let them run it out of their systems. Luckily it was mild enough to stay out for a little while.

And now... now it's the weekend. And tomorrow. Well, let's say I've got my valentines all settled, I think.

I can't believe I spent two hours of my life watching a Hallmark movie of the week, and crying through the entire thing. AND at the commercials. Ugh. I blame hormones. Sometimes being a woman is just slightly frustrating.

Well, on the plus side, I have Ben & Jerry's, which is certainly something. I think I'll find something less prone to making me teary-eyed to watch.

It's been a really productive day. Well, productive. I didn't finish grading my kids' projects yet, but there's always tomorrow for that. Today I braved the retail world and came away victorious. I'm probably a little bit too excited about my purchases, but there's just something fantastic about new sheets and a new comforter. They're a really nice threadcount too. And the comforter is down and really really soft. Oh and new pillows. I really can't wait to get into bed tonight, actually. I know it's kind of silly. Maybe it's the little girl in me. But whatever it is, my whole room seems brighter. And it'll be warm, which is especially excellent considering how cold it is out.

Hmm. I think I'll turn on my TV and lounge about in bed for the evening. Now if I could just find some company...

Ow. Ow ow ow ow ow. What a klutz. I can't believe it. I knew it was icy too, but I was being careful. I can't believe I fell. And down the stairs too. Luckily it was only the last three, but still. I'm awfully sore. I'm sure my entire side is going to wind up completely bruised. It was very smooth. At least no one was around so my pride didn't take too much damage.

At least it's the weekend so I can take it easy and be a little bit lazy. I think soaking in a nice, hot bath will help too. Hmm. Maybe bubbles. That sounds nice.

Thank god it's the weekend. While I certainly missed my students over the break, they've been totally wound up all this week. I thought a little arts and crafts would get it out of them, but ah, it turns out I was wrong. The Great Glitter Disaster will go down in the history books as perhaps the biggest tactical mistake in the never-ending battle that is education. Oh well. They had fun, even if I can't walk into my classroom without coming out with sparkles somewhere on my person. I swear it's in the air. I love them dearly, but they need outside recess desperately. It needs to be less cold out so we can turn them loose on the playground.

Meanwhile, I shouldn't complain. I absolutely love the weather. It reminds me of winter back home. And there's nothing more peaceful than a night full of snowfall.

James? How are your classes going?

If I hear the song "Five Little Pumpkins" again, I may go crazy. At least the kids are cute and they seem to be enjoying it. I think the production will go well, when all is said and done.

But tonight I could sure use some more grown up music. Maybe a nice hot bath too. A glass of wine. Hmm. This is shaping up into a definite plan for a relaxing end to a hectic monday. Not bad at all.

It was quite the enjoyable weekend really. But back to reality these past few days. The kids have been very well-behaved, which is excellent. I am very fond of my class this year. They're good kids.

James, you mentioned maybe going to the beach this weekend? Are we still on for that? And thank you... for this past weekend. I had a good time.

What are you doing tonight?

There. All settled. I think I've managed to unpack everything and get it out of the boxes.

James, I... last night
we...
you...
I'm sorry I...
But I don't regret...
...thank you again for your help. It would have taken me forever to do it all on my own. I appreciate it.

.Finally, a place to call my own. Freesia North. Marita? I'm sure we'll get along fine. I'll try not to be too noisy moving my things in.

James? I think I'll take you up on that offer of help, if you aren't busy.

This is perfect. I suppose I'm a few days late for the very beginning of the school year, but i'm sure whoever was covering my class did a wonderful job. My name is Kayla Silverfox. I haven't been assigned a room just yet, but that's all right. Mostly i'm just glad to find a place to settle down. This place seems awfully accepting as well, from what I have read about it, of those who are different. That's for the best. Anyway, I'll be teaching second grade here; I'm looking forward to it.

What else what else? Oh! Does anyone know a good store in town for school supplies? I'll need crayons and a few decorations for my classroom. It needs to be cheerful, after all. Children laern best in a bright, comfortable atmosphere.

I hope I am assigned a room soon. It'll be nice to get my things unpacked once and for all. Staying in the overflow isn't so bad for now.
